my first listen to Drone Wallah
Although I'm fairly familiar with some other works by McDill- this is the first time I've ventured into the Drone works of this intensely-prolific netlabel artist.
"Boojum" hooked me instantly- These pieces are very short, which would almost seem (?) taboo in the drone community but it works very well. We all know this artist is capable of mood-creation and can make atmosphere as if painting a picture- so these tracks are almost like a tease- although a good one.
My favorites are the emotional, classical-sounding ones... and there is a lot to choose from in this collection.
I would LOVE to hear him stretch these themes out a bit and add some Saluki-styled layers- it would work very, very well-- perfect sounds!!
Mystified has done a companion piece to this album, in which he does some reworking with the tracks in a Zoviet France (!!) style. I haven't heard it yet, but it's on my list... my endless list of wonderful netlabel music- and you guys make some of the most intriguing and thoughtful albums around! Netlabel or otherwise...

Some really nice drone tracks, textured but open. Something is here for everyone.
